Long COVID encompasses a wide spectrum of symptoms and health conditions that emerge either during the course of a COVID-19 infection or, in some cases, up to 12 weeks after initial recovery from the virus.
This syndrome is characterised by the unique aspect that the initial COVID infection was typically mild to moderate and often followed by a period of apparent improvement. Long COVID syndrome typically exhibits clusters of symptoms that frequently intersect, evolve over time, and affect various bodily systems.
Since April 2020, MEDIAN has been treating numerous patients coping with the long-term effects of COVID-19. As a result, our doctors and therapists possess significant experience in addressing the enduring consequences of a COVID-19 infection, closely tracking the disease's progression.
Given the diverse nature of Long COVID symptoms, rehabilitation primarily centers on an interdisciplinary and personalised approach. Each patient is provided with an individualised programme based on their distinct combination of symptoms, pre-existing conditions, and the severity of their past COVID-19 infection. This programme isn't static, it evolves or adjusts as needed throughout the course of rehabilitation, ensuring the most effective care.
