Patients who receive this rehabilitation are typically 80 years old and have five or more additional conditions to be treated alongside their primary diagnosis.
Through purposeful rehabilitation interventions, the autonomy, communication proficiencies, and mobility of older individuals can be preserved or restored. Abilities that have been lost can be offset through the acquisition of new approaches or by incorporating assistive technologies.
